What I like most about studying Feng Shui
is that it is the missing piece to design. I have studied design extensively, and have applied it well to achieve pleasing spaces.
However, much of what I did in the creation process just came to me intuitively.
I could never explain WHY something
worked and felt right until now. Feng Shui
is the why and
I am so excited that I finally found it!
So now
I was stimulated to go home and Feng Shui! However, I still needed a name for
my new venture.
During the last day of class, I got an inspiration. The property
where the class was held was lushly landscaped.
There were small lizards, called Anoles , running everywhere . One Anole
caught my eye as it scampered across the sidewalk and onto a large green plant. When
it first settled on the plant, it was the soft grey color of the sidewalk. But as I watched, it slowly changed to a
deep forest green . Soon, it was difficult to see his little body, which was slightly serpentine, and looked like an 'S' against the leaf.
I want to change people's environments to meet their needs in the same way that the small Anole or CHAMELEON changes to match its environment. On the plane ride home , I kept sketching that 'S' shaped lizard on my napkin. I kept writing the word CHAMELEON. Finally,
I saw CHAMELEON next
to that 'S' shaped lizard and wrote in the PACES to arrive at the final name of Chameleon Spaces .
